Regulations for Admission of Overseas Doctoral Students When Applying for Management Science and Engineering Programs in 2020
Ⅰ. Eligibility
Please refer to the requirements in Student admission Brochure of College of International Education.
Ⅱ. Submission of application documents
Please refer to the requirements in Student Recruitment Brochure of College of International Education.
Ⅲ. College of International Education shall review the documents submitted by applicants, and finalize the list of the applicants having passed the initial assessment.
Ⅳ. Applicants shall submit the Pre-acceptance Letter of Doctoral Supervisor to the School of Management Science and Engineering.
Ⅴ. Evaluation from the School of Management Science and Engineering
1. Organization
The school shall establish an expert team consisting of at least five experts (including relevant doctoral supervisors), providing evaluation on the satisfaction of applicants’ potential for the doctoral trainings. The evaluation will be implemented in March and August, respectively.
2. Evaluation criteria
The evaluation criteria include interview and written exam, with a total score of 100 (see the following details):
(1) Interview
The expert team shall interview the applicants one by one, and the applicants shall answer questions professionally. The purpose is to examine applicants' attainments and the capability of logical thinking and language expression. The interview accounts for 40% of the total assessment score.
(2) Written exam
The written exam is organized by the school to examine applicants' professional knowledge related to advanced mathematics and preliminary econometrics. The written exam account for 60% of total assessment score.
Note: If an applicant cannot take the written exam on time because of being located overseas, s/he shall provide official proof of mathematical or data processing capability.
Ⅵ. Proposed recruitment
The leading team of postgraduate admission in the School of Management Science and Engineering shall finalize the list of proposed admitted students after reviewing all applicants' documents, evaluation records and evaluation results. The list shall be submitted to the College of International Education in two batches at the end of March and at the end of August, respectively.
